About The Company
In the Fall of 2000, Alia Khan was ready to launch her very own couture collection, which when released, opened to rave reviews at the Spring 2001 Bollywood Fashion Awards in New York. So successful were her designs, that Alia Khan became the only designer privileged to be invited to return for successive Bollywood Fashion events in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
In the following Spring of 2001 she introduced her first brochure accompanied by her AsianAndaz.com website, which was followed by the first South Asian designer Haute Couture mail-order catalog in the USA. Both the Alia Khan catalogue and asianandaz.com website were immediate hits on both sides of the Atlantic.
The popularity of Alia Khan’s designs lead her to adding a stronger Western influence into a growing number of her garments, which gained her further acknowledgements, not only within the South Asian market, but with a growing number of people in the mainstream market as well. As a consequence, she began combining some of the unique design traditions of elegance from the East, with a strong Western flare, to develop her brand new Collection The Alia Khan Experience (T.A.K.E). Now offering buyers and consumers everywhere a fresh, stylish and different “fashion look”!
