The Altman Building Shows Off Their Sleek Space

After years in the event industry, I have developed the ability to find the hidden flaws in pretty much anything, particularly in New York event spaces. So imagine my surprise when I visited the Altman Building for an open house a few weeks ago … and thought that it was perfect.

This restored, historic carriage house in Chelsea (18^th Street) is now a gorgeous, two floor event venue, with a designer friendly open floor plan. The column free space is lovely and highly modern, allowing for nearly any type of production. As if a perfectly shaped, raw space and ideal location weren’t enough, the Altman building has also kept some of its original architectural gems. The vaulted brick ceilings are so incredibly unique that you may have a hard time tearing your eyes away from them and the original French doors add a touch of old world charm to this chic new space.

The space offers 10,000 square feet on the ground level and 3,500 square feet on the gallery level. With an in house sound system, easy ground floor loading area and ample prep space, the Altman building is a total diamond in the rough.
