About two years ago, sisters Catherine and Jacqueline Richelieu decided to combine their creative talents and open a business dedicated to fine stationery. Over a brainstorming lunch one day, the socially aware duo agreed that in order for them to run this business and feel good about the products that they are selling, they must use environmentally conscious paper and practices. This led to some exploration of the stationery industry. They went to store after store, only to find that while most stationers carried a couple of ‘green’ options, none were 100% committed to the movement. Thus, Green Fingerprint was born!
Now, we all have our preconceived notions of what recycled paper is. In fact, visions of home sewn, grainy, grayish paper with imperfections and flecks are racing through my mind as we speak. This could not be further from the level of perfection that Green Fingerprint has managed to achieve with their products. NOTE: All of Green Fingerprint’s digital and offset printing is done on 100% PCR (post consumer recycled paper). All letterpress printing is done on tree-free cotton rag paper.
