When planning your special event, you rarely get an opportunity to pick a "hip" place. You have your standard spaces that can accommodate your guest count, some that are closer to where you live, and others that hold a special meaning to your occasion or guest(s) of honor. Enter, The Foundry...
This 19th century Foundry is true to it's name, with ivies growing on the brick exterior, visible chimneys, hidden nooks & even the cauldron has been transformed into a fountain. What makes it so unique is that although it has a rustic look on the outside, it is modern & contemporary on the inside with state of the art sound system, projection screen, industrial kitchen & use of the patio & rooftop area.
What's amazing about a raw space is that anything you can imagine your event to be, can come to life. You can change the entire look of the venue or simply add to the charm. Just take a look at their portfolio for a glimpse of what past clients have done. Who says you can't have a banquette in the center of the dance floor, why not drape the nooks with curtains to give each "VIP" guest a bit of privacy as they escape in a new world, how about swags of fabric hanging across the mezzanine on the 2nd floor to create an entirely new ambiance upstairs?
This place is ideal for weddings, birthday parties, TV/film projects as well as photo shoots. I was so obsessed with this place that after I did a wedding here years ago that I personally threw 2 birthday parties in the space, 1 includes my own. To do the shameful name dropping on what went down here: Gossip Girl did a "club" scene, Eryka Badu did a performance that was filmed for the Chappele Show, Kanye West's album release party was held, Architerual Digest did a photo shoot & a few cooking shows have been filmed in their amazing kitchen....just in case you wanted to tell your guests how cool you are that you hob nobbed in the very same place as these equally cool folks! —Preeti Nanvaan |
