RP Report: What is your favorite current trend in our industry?
Devra, MarieMarin: Green events are such a growing trend in our industry, and we are specialists at producing them, down to recycled and reused event collateral. We are love how more and more events and planners are really embracing the eco-chic movement.
RP Report: What trend do you wish would go away?
Katie, MarieMarin: We love our brides, but we are not big fans of the “multiple dress” idea. A brides gown should be the centerpiece of the event, the one item that everything else revolves around. Not only will you save the money, but it really will make more of a statement and a splash. Most importantly, your guests will remember it.
RP Report: What do you think will be the next “big thing” in special events (does not need to be in your area of the event industry, but can be)?
Devra, MarieMarin: We love the idea of using historical locations and buildings. Museum’s and library’s provide a unique spaces that are rich with culture and ambiance.
RP Report: What is your favorite event that you have ever worked on, and why?
Devra, MarieMarin: We recently produced an event for the charity Ghana on Tap. The event raised over $3,000 to build water wells in the village of Mowire, Ghana for the children of the Triumph School. We believed in the cause and it was an honor to produce this event. The most rewarding work is always the events that change lives.
RP Report: In the spirit of community, if you had to recommend one vendor or venue
who you think does fabulous work, who would that vendor/venue be, and why?
Katie, MarieMarin: There are many spaces and vendors that we love working with. Loft 676 is a fabulous new loft space that we plan to utilize quite a bit in the upcoming months! As for catering, we definitely recommend Chef Pierrot, whom we work with and represent. And last but not least, we love Francios-Pijuan Florist. Stunning work!
