With nothing but steely determination in my heart, a skim latte in one hand and Visa card in the other, I set out on a mission to find the perfect melt in your mouth pastries for RP Report readers to gift their event guests with. If you want the best colorful tasty treats, then that is what you shall have! Let it never be said that RP Report does not go above and beyond to provide their readers with the most accurate information! I will try every macaron in the COUNTRY! I will stop at nothing until I find the perfect ganache filled goodie, the perfect jam filled jewel, the perfect cream filled cookie!
Well, fifteen macarons and one sick tummy later, I found myself tired and travel weary… searching for the will to press on and continue taste testing. “Oh my poor feet are blistered and this coffee is cold,” I said to myself as I trekked though the desert on a horse with no name. Well, I was actually in a buggy that was being drawn by a horse named Sally and the desert was really Central Park… but whatever, nobody is keeping track. (Sigh.) There must be a better way!
I must say, this task turned out to be far more difficult than I had initially anticipated. Macarons are such a complex pastry that choosing the best ones can present a serious challenge. In the end, I decided to take my decadent data and run it by the TRUE experts: my favorite Frenchie taste makers. After all, they grew up with access to Laduree and Pierre Hermé, and therefore should clearly know a good macaron when they find one! So, with the assistance of mes amies, I have compiled a small list of the crème de la crème of patisseries. Some of our finds offer favor sized packaging, while others sell in larger quantities and will need to be repackaged. One thing is certain though: They ALL offer the very best macarons that can be found in the United States.
