The product of a long line of Roman hoteliers and restaurateurs, Cristina Verger was raised in a household where hospitality was the family business.   After an impressive fifteen year career working as the Event Designer and Director of Catering for The Helmsley Group, The Trump Organization, The Harvard Club of New York and Windows on the World, Cristina decided in 2000 that she was ready to begin building her own brand. Thus, Tasty Thoughts was born!

I caught up with Cristina recently and we got to chatting about one of her upcoming events. She is currently planning a super swanky two weekend wedding celebration. The first weekend is will consist of an intimate ceremony and gorgeous, fall inspired, seven course family dinner at the couple’s home, followed by a huge cocktail party the following weekend at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City. For the private family ceremony, Cristina had an artist paint a watercolor of the couple’s home, and had it recreated and personalized with handwritten calligraphy as invitations.  She is turning the couple's home into a stunning event venue and creating the most exquisite private dinner party for the 32 family members.  The cocktail reception at the Mandarin the next weekend will be nothing short of spectacular! Chic lounge furniture, view of Central Park South, a gorgeous trellis over the dance floor, round sofas with gardens planted in the middles. The whole affair will be fantastic, and laced with the signature touches that make Cristina one of the most unique and creative event planners around!

Cristina’s has a set philosophy on working with her clients. “There is no such thing as it can’t be done. I believe that it is my job to give them what they didn’t even know that they wanted”.
