Write your donation, name & wedding date as a keepsake Martha Stewart Weddings
How many of you have a drawer full of wedding favors that you can't bring yourself to throw out, but know you have no use for? That's what I thought...I'm not alone in this quest for finding the "perfect" favor for my couples. There are those cute couples that met online & give mousepads reading "we clicked". Then there are those couples that are foodies & give "meant to bee" honey jars. I get it & I love it...who doesn't like corny in this day in age?
My favorite & most appreciated favor by far would be a charity favor. In the wake of all the drama we see on the news such as earthquakes, hunger, famine, poverty, illiteracy..the list goes on & on about what we take for granted, giving back is always appreciated. Even a dollar goes a long way to those in need & is a wonderful way to start your new life together.
To make it more personal, find a charity that you feel strongly about such as breast cancer awareness, rain forest preservation, save the animals, water supply or education in third world countries or doing a search online on sites such as unicef or the idofoundation. Create a template in word for your table placement or your escort card table, such as a small tag to hang off of an organza bag filled with candy or simply print on stationary matching your invitations to let your guests know that a donation has been made in their name for an organization you feel strongly about. Guaranteed that they will feel just as good about themselves as you do & those that you will help. So those tears may not just be from the wedding toast, but let the Best Man think it was.
