A business usually has a story on “how we got where we are”…here ‘s a little bit of Bukhara’s. Bukhara is a restaurant at the Luxury Collection ITC Hotel Maurya in New Delhi, India where long time friends & now business partners Raja Jhanjee & Vicky Vij worked. A dream to start their own restaurant began in India & became reality in New York in September 1999 when they brought "Dal Bukhara" to the United States.
Since then, Bukhara Grill has offered New York cutting edge & trendy menus, a private event space in the restaurant to host an small get together or corporate event & the ability to cater multiple events at a time. Jhanjee & Vij are both helpful in assisting you to select a menu, but are never afraid of trying something new (or even telling you what they really think of it). Try the Dal Bukhara & the Lychee Paneer, my absolute favorites!
Some noteworthy events would be: a Cocktail Dinner at Waldorf Astoria for Prime Minister Hon. Manmohan Singh, Wedding Feast for Mr. Salman Rushdie and Padma Lakshmi, catered the First Ever Diwali Celebration at The White House in Washington D.C.in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Bukara has served iconic people; from political figures like Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Senator Hillary Clinton & Hon. Prime Minister of Belize and his delegation to pop icons like the Rolling Stones and U2. Hollywood stars such as Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell & Bollywood's biggest stars, including Shahrukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Uday Chopra, Rishi Kapoor, Amir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta.
